KJR Players Named to OHL Gold Cup Roster

The Alliance today officially announced the roster of players that will represent Team Alliance in the OHL Gold Cup tournament taking place May 5-8 at Activa.

The OHL Gold Cup is an annual event featuring Ontario’s top Under-16 talent. As part of Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence, the top players from the OHL Gold Cup will be invited to attend the Under-17 National Camp. There players will practice and compete against other the top talent from across the country, trying to earn a spot on Team Canada and compete at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

Luke Bignell and Eric Uba both of whom played for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Minor Midget AAA hockey club have been named to Team Alliance.  Goalie coach Marc McCallum will also be returning to the Team Alliance staff.

Team Alliance looks to continue the improvement each year at this event.  In 2014 Team Alliance won Bronze and improved that to Silver in 2015.

Best of luck to Luke, Eric and Marc!!

This is the third straight year that Kitchener Jr. Rangers have been named to team Alliance with Owen Lane (99) and Nic Hague (98) attending the summer evaluation camp in Calgary.  Nic Hague played for Team Canada at the U17 World tournament and has recently been invited to the Team Canada U18 training camp in Winnipeg.

Donna's Kids is pleased to partner again for 2019/2020 season with Sun Life and their Kids In Gear program. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, as part of their mandate, provides financial support for children in this community who, without our assistance, would not be afforded the opportunity to participate in organized hockey in the City of Kitchener. Monies for this cause have been donated by various individuals and organizations over the years, however with increasing demands we have the need to provide further support for this program. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by KIDS IN GEAR are channelled directly to purchase equipment for children.
