Pucks for Sale!

Saturday February 4, 2012 Kitchener Minor Hockey will host the 1st ever 24 Hour Hockey for Health benefitting the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and St. Mary’s Cardiac Centre. The goal is to have every team in Kitchener Minor Hockey participate in the event and help raise money and awareness for these two causes.

In an effort to generate more donations for these very worthy causes, we will be selling paper pucks that will be sold for $2.00 and put up on the walls of the lobby at Activa acknowledging the donor. These pucks will remain on the walls for the duration of the event.  We will also draw from those pucks sold for two prizes, a Kitchener Rangers autographed stick and a Tanner Pearson Team Canada autographed jersey.   In addition to selling these pucks at Activa during the event, the Minor Pee Wee AA team will be “pre-selling” these pucks at the Ranger Game on January 27th so if you’re planning on attending the game, make sure you bring a Toonie with you!  The pucks will also be sold at the Hockey office the week before the event - come get your pucks!

The event will begin at noon on the Saturday and run for 24 hours and will also include food, raffles, silent auctions, games, prizes and so much more. We will also be having a defibrillator training course and awareness sessions during the course of the event to educate the public on these two health topics.

All KMHA boys and girls teams will be challenged to raise funds for this great cause and help our fellow citizens by contributing. This can be done in many ways. We will be circulating pledge forms amongst all of the teams to help with donations, but each family can also donate on-line. The pledge forms and any cash/cheques or credit card numbers that you receive can be submitted at the KMHA office, the week of the event. These sheets will then be tabulated and added to your team’s total contribution.

To donate online visit, www.kitchenerminorhockey.com/donate or follow the link at the top of your team’s home page. Once you have arrived on the donations page (still a KMHA page) please ensure you use the drop down box to select the team you wish your donation to count towards. If you have multiple children you will need to make individual donations under each team if you wish to count the donation under each team. Once you have selected your team and clicked on the “donate now” button you will be redirected to a secure payment page where you can process a donation by pay pal or with a credit card. If you do not do select a team your donation will default to the KMHA Hockey for Health general donation tag.

The top three KMHA teams raising funds for this event will receive prizes. These prizes will be announced in the New Year and will be sure to impress, so start raising funds now!
