About This Fundraiser
Perseverance, Determination, and Fierce are all words that we associate with Hockey Players, well so are Passionate, Caring, and Involved, together these 6 qualities have lead KMHA to launch the 24 Hour Hockey Game For Health.
We plan to help Kitchener and Waterloo Region by challenging our teams, our community, and ourselves to take up the battle to fight Cancer and Cardiac disease, right here at home. We will work hard in the corners and in all the places that others fear to tread to raise funds to help those around us.
On Saturday February 4, 2012 Kitchener Minor Hockey will host the 1st ever 24 Hour Hockey for Health Game benefitting the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and St. Mary’s Cardiac Centre. The goal is to have every team in Kitchener Minor Hockey participate in the event and help raise money and awareness for these two causes.
The event will begin at noon on Saturday the 4th and run for 24 hours. It will be an exciting time with food, raffles, silent auctions, games, prizes and so much more. Working together with both hospitals we will play hockey, host educational seminars, and let our community know that at KMHA we build people who care and give back.
In the near future we will be posting a schedule of events here for everyone to see with instructions on how to become involved as a participant, a donator, or a volunteer.
We thank you for helping make our community a better place and hope that you can drop by and be a part of this great community event.
