Let the August Challenge Begin!
Congratulations to the boys for all of the shots taken during the month of July...and now, it's time for the August Challenge to begin!!
The August challenge will consist of two (2) components: A shooting portion and a stick-handling portion.
We know that August can be extremely busy...so each player will be required to complete a minimum of one thousand (1000) shots and one hundred & twenty (120) stick-handling minutes...before September.
With regards to the shots, once again, please vary your distances and angles...and focus / concentrate on each and every shot. We are looking for power and quality!
Re the stick-handling...use your weighted hockey ball, a puck, or even a golf ball...and really emphasize "soft" hands. Stick handle around cones, work on your toe-drag, and have some fun!! We're looking for improved puck control skills here...and this practice will help to increase our hand speed and coordination...
Keep up the great work fellas...The season is right around the corner...and the hard work will pay off!!
