U11 AA Jr Rangers Win 2026 Oakville Winter Classic!
The U11 AA Jr Rangers travelled to Oakville this past weekend to participate in the 2nd largest tournament in North America and came home as CHAMPIONS!
The team travelled to Oakville knowing the competition would be tough with 5 of the top 10 ranked AA teams in Ontario and 2 talented teams from the US being part of the 16 team field.
The Jr Rangers earned 2nd place in their division after the round robin portion of the tournament after 2 hard fought wins over the Mississauga Beast and Burlington Eagles before coming up short in a loss in their 3rd game against a talented Mississauga North Stars team. This earned the team a spot in the quarter finals of the tournament.
It is always the final day of the tournament that is always the most demanding. The winning team needing to battle and win 3 games before getting to hoist the championship trophy.
In the case of the Jr Rangers, championship Sunday would be no different as it would require the Jr Rangers to defeat 3 previously undefeated opponents to win the championship. The day started with a 3-0 quarter final victory over the Buffalo Regals and it was followed by a 1-0 semi final win in a rematch with the Mississauga North Stars. Back to back shutouts! In the finals some additional scoring power was necessary and the boys delivered with a 5-2 victory over the Faustina Toros!!!
This is such an accomplishment and another special moment for this talented group of hard working and determined players. They are very deserving in earning the title of 2026 Oakville Winter Classic U11 AA CHAMPIONS!!!
