Title: Procedure for U10 to U16 "AAA"

Policy Statement:

Triple "AAA" tryouts will commence after Labour day in September. All Rep staff will work together during tryouts.  The Head Coach or his/her designate from the “Next” team must be present at all player releases. Player releases must not be conducted away from Kitchener.  Releases cannot be done by posting a list. All releases must be done personally with the player.

Note: U18 Hockey tryouts will be scheduled as defined by our governing bodies.

U14 to U16 teams will grant one mandatory tryout only in April.  Releases will commence following this first tryout and may be completed through the on line process.

Players released from KMHA, as their home centre,  U14 to U16 AAA teams only are granted an automatic release/waiver and thus are free to tryout with any other Alliance Association.  No other waiver is required.  If a player wishes to try out for an OMHA team the necessary F1 waivers must be completed.    This holds true for players at this level coming from outside associations wanting to tryout in Kitchener.  Once they are released from their Home Centre within the Alliance they are free to tryout for any Alliance association.

There is a 48 hour free agency period which commences the final 48 hours of sanctioned tryouts.   They have the right to continue with KMHA tryouts or attend another centre AAA tryout.  If the other centre is within the Alliance only a waiver from their Home Centre is required.  If they wish to attend an OMHA centre the required F1 waivers are necessary.
