Great start for the Novice Reds
The Novice Red Jr Rangers have concluded very busy and productive first week. The coaches are thrilled with the heart, hustle & focus shown by the players in the 3 practices and 4 games that made up the last 8 days. For a group that is very capable of offensive production, we are most excited in the quality of play in our own end. The entire squad ... goalies, d-men and forwards have responded extremely well to the coaches challenge to play our "Danger Zone Defence" as their first priority and to the best of their ability.
Last weekend, the Waterloo Ice Wolves had their hands full in a home and home exhibition exchange with the feisty Reds. Today, the Reds traveled to the Mastercard Centre in Toronto to participate in a mini-tournament against West Mall & Credit Valley. In two short 25 minute games, the skill and effort of the Reds matched up well against the two strong Toronto clubs.
Thanks to the parents, players and coaches, the Jr Ranger Novice Reds have launched the season on a very positive note and with regular season opener on the schedule for next Saturday, a great start this past week will ensure the team will be ready to roll.
