Playoff game #1 vs Waterloo
The playoffs have begun and it was a great beginning.
Our first game of the playoffs was a roller coaster of emotions and a little hard on the coaching staffs nerves as I'm sure it was the same to the parents watching. We came out strong, the kids were focused and during the first period played hard and had some great chances but the teams had zeros showing on the score board.
The second period seen Waterloo jump into a 1-0 lead late into the period but the team was still focused playing well and playing hard. Waterloo got a early 3rd period goal to put us into a little hole but the team spirt on the bench us upbeat and full of confidence cheering each other on. With just under 6 minutes left in the game Camden started the scoring and we put the pressure off our shoulders and squarely on Waterloo's shoulders. We kept the pressure on Waterloo backing them into a corner and Stewart putting the puck into the back of the net to tie it up with 3 minutes left to tie the game up.
Not only did we take a big point away from this game we also learned never to give up no matter how much time is left on the clock. We could have easily gave up but the boys dug deep and showed their pride, hard work and dedication.
Good work Ranger Red on a well deserved point in our first playoff game.
