Playoff game #4 vs Hamilton
The final score certainly wasn't a reflection of how the team played.

With a score of 6-1 you would have thought Ranger Red was badly outplayed but that was not the case. Ranger Red came out flying and put tremendous pressure on the Hamilton team. The team was focused on the roles they needed to follow. James was outstanding in net, Nick stepped up big time, Brett had a great game, Steward had another strong game and the forwards pressured the the offensive zone and got some great scoring chances. Unfortunately we ran into a hot (or maybe a little lucky) goaltender. We were disciplined and stayed out of the penalty box which enabled us to focus on the task at hand and not worry about killing penalties.
The defence as a unit will really need to step up our game as the Hamilton team took advantage of our weak play on the defensive end of our game. Thats the lessons we need to take from games, continue to work and improve on things that are going well but also to recognize our weaknesses and our down falls and strive to get better each and every shift. I'm counting on the defence core to step up against Ranger Blue and set the tone of the game right from the beginning.
All of the four playoff games we have played the kids have come prepared to the games and need to continue to do so as we are definitely not out of advancing to the next round of the playoffs. With continued hard work, focusing on details, staying discipline (at all times) and working as a team I'm fully confident we will advance to the next round of playoffs and be well on our way to playing in the provincial. Having said this, we can't look forward past each game, we need to focus on every shift, get on the ice, play your positions, stay focused and disciplined, work hard and get to the bench and rest up and be ready for your next shift.
See you all this afternoon and lets come away with an important win.
