Provincial Bound
CONGRATULATIONS to all the Kitchener Lady Ranger Midget B players and staff for qualifying for the 2011 - 2012 OWHA Provincial Playdowns. Your continued effort and hard work made all the difference in your playdown success.

On the 17th of September 2011, the Kitchener Lady Ranger 2011 / 2012 Midget B team was selected. On the 18th of September 2011, a player / parent meeting was held which outlined the goals and objectives for this season. At that time, the significance of the month of February was explained.

The growth and development of the team started at the first practice on the 19th of September 2011 and continued until practice on the 21st of February 2012. In between, a silver medal in Etobicoke, a gold in Fallfest, a gold in Mississauga, a third place finish in the Central West Division, and as importantly an elimination in Sarnia continued the preparation for "February".

In September, it's hard to imagine how one will prepare over the next five months for what will amount to "four" games of truly meaningful hockey. It's even harder to imagine how a team will react when they lose that "first" game. Fifty games of hockey later, the goal of qualifying for Provincials rested with one final game against a tough Waterloo Ravens team who had lost only two LLFHL regular season games.

The game, like life, was not perfect. There were moments of brilliance and moments far less so. But what never changed was your honest effort, work ethic and heart that you have competed with since September. As we have said to you before, you are the nicest group of young ladies that Mike, Tim, Glen and I have ever had the pleasure of coaching. You deserve a big pat on the back for how hard you have worked, how you have managed your season and how you have competed as a team. Your efforts, work ethic and heart will take you a long way in life.

There are no guarantees going forth to Provincials. Anything can happen once your there but understand the true importance of having met your goal in qualifying.

On behalf of Mike, Tim, Glen and Joanne, sincere congratulations on being the "M" Division representatives for the 2011 - 2012 OWHA Provincial Qualifiers.
