Round 2
The second round of the LLFHL 2011 - 2012 season is now complete. After a day of ice delays, what a finish to the second round for the Midget B Lady Rangers!

After a physical series with the Haldiman Rivercats, the Kitchener Lady Rangers Midget B team opened up round two of the LLFHL Playoffs against the West Sceneca Wings. In a much faster paced first game, the KLR managed to squeeze out a 1 - 1 tie against a technically sound, more disciplined Wings.

The return trip to "beautiful" Crystal Beach hit a small snag with ice compressor issues forcing the cancelation of Saturday's game 2. After many hours of behind the scenes talks and a firm agreement by the team staff to not playing a 9:00 a.m. game, a double header was set for Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in Crystal Beach.

A 0 - 0 tie in game 2 set the stage for a "winner take all" game 3. From the first minute of play to the thirty second minute the ladies "drove the bus" and played an exceptional game of hockey. A text book F1 pass by Jonsey to a weak side post crashing F2 Colie provided the only (and early) goal of this great final game.

Your offensive pressure and your stellar defensive zone play (no comments on the officiating or lack thereof in what appeared to be an overt attempt to .... well no comments!!) ensured your successful advancement to round 3. From two shutouts, to great breakouts and D to D's, to dumping, chasing, banging and crashing, you did it all. While you have not played quite this way since Sarnia, it was great to see the return of a team of players who will compete with anyone when you play this way!

One more round ladies! Step up, continue to play hard and drive that bus!!

Congratulations to all on a great round two!
