Easter Weekend - Brampton
Happy Easter to all the Lady Rangers players and parents!
After three round robin games where the Kitchener Lady Rangers out scored their opponments 9 - 0, the Midget B team faced a tough quarter final opponent in the North York Storm. A goal in each of the three frames had the team advancing to the semi - finals against the LLFHL Champion Cold Creek Comets. In a game that bore no resemblance to the 3 - 1 loss at the LLFHL Championship, the Lady Rangers stepped up, controlled the play and put on a very entertaining, physical, hard working game of hockey that was both a pleasure to watch and coach. However, a fifth shut-out was not in the cards and unfortunately surrendering the lone goal of the tournament (and game) proved to be the only goal necessary for elimination.
As discussed Friday, this weekend was not about winning the tournament but rather working through the final stages of our preparation for next weekend, when the games truly count. You started slow but improved game by game to play at a level that will have you compete for a Provincial gold next weekend. One more week of hard work ladies. Success doesn't come to you, you go to it. And you are well on the way!
