2nd Annual RBC Kitchener Girls Hockey Day
January 13th will mark the 2nd Annual RBC Kitchener Girls Hockey Day, and this year has been working hard in support of the Food Band of Waterloo Region. Having already raised and collected close to 3500 pounds of non-perishable food items, our girls are asking the rest of the community to join in as well.

During a campaign, in which the team collecting the most food in pounds, the girls of the Atom A Lady Rangers collected an astonishing 2000 pounds earning them the privilege of wearing and keeping custom jerseys (provided by 1st Impressions) commemorating the day. But it does not stop there, Kitchener Girls Hockey in partnership with RBC are asking all those in attendance, players and fans alike to continue to donate. The Food Band of Waterloo Region will be on hand for Girls Hockey Day to accept further contributions.

In addition a new feature has been added to this year, ‘Learn to Play’ is an event that features Cheryl Pounder and Becky Kellar, two highly decorated multi Gold Medal Olympic Canadian Champions. At 11:00 we are inviting girls and women of any age to come and learn the game. Equipment will be provided if you register (free of charge) with the KMHA office prior to the event. This will be first come first serve, so don’t delay. Here is the link to register Girls Hockey Day

Bauer has also joined in cooperation with Play It Again Sports this year with a special shooting challenge with all proceeds from the event going to the Food Bank.

As with the inaugural event last year, this year features all the girls registered in Kitchener Minor Hockey playing at one venue, on one day, against teams from all over Southern Ontario and the United States. Please joy us and cheer on such remarkable local talent.

Come find out what it really means to play like a Girl.
