Kitchener Vs Kitchener
Last night we saw some friends at a friendly game between team Red and team Blue. It was nice to see everyone last night. The boys were really pumped to play against their friends and couldn't wait to get the game started. Team Blue started strong and took the play to us in the first few minutes of the game. We were back on our heels and Connor came up big when he had to. He controled the rebounds and didn't give them much net to shoot at. Good game Coonor. :-)
Angelo had an awesome game he was always involved in the play. He skated down the wing and ripped a killer wrist shot past the goalie to give us a 1-0 lead. Beauty shot buddy. Logan had one of his best games of the year working really hard earning him the hard hat worker of the game. Jack skated down the left side of the ice ripped a low shot on the goalie and it bounced out to Logan. With the goalie sprawled across the ice Logan wristed it to the back of the net. It was a nice goal to put us up 2-0. Jack F was back in the line-up and he was stiffling their forwards everytime they tried to make something happen. Jack F and Scott seemed to be all over the ice not giving up much space for them to control the play. Great work boys. Ben and Nathan both had a strong game getting the puck to the corners and getting us out of trouble many times. Clearing the front of the net and any loose pucks were shot to the corner or out of our zone. The line of Owen, Maddux and Cole worked hard in the offensive zone creating many chances. Cole had a nice play along the boards by taking the advice of the coach on how to protect the puck and break out of our zone with it. Nice move Cole. Maddux was robbed when he received a pass from Cole and one timed a shot only to be saved by the goalie. Aidan had a sweet goal tonight and really put the game away with his stick work. He deked out a couple defenders and shot the puck past the goalie to put us up 3-0. Mark was on his game as well last night. He was in the corners working to get the puck out to the slot. Thanks again Mark it was nice to have you filling in. You did a good job. Antonio put the icing on the cake with a beauty deke and shot to the back of the net. He is getting better with his puck control. In the final minutes of the game we were down two boys and Quinten was on the ice showing his fierce competitive edge. He battled three guys for the puck and won with determination. He took some war wounds from it with a stick to the neck that hurt him a little. It's plays like that one that define what a team is all about hard work and effort. You did it boys now keep it going.
