With the Ladies expected to wrap up the exhibition season this weekend, there has been remarkable progress in the girls ability to learn and adapt. After what could have been a moral thwarting loss to the Waterloo ‘A’ Ravens, the Belles in Blue rebounded for a 2-0 win in Cambridge and a 1-1 hard fought tie at Waterloo ‘B’.

Coach Julie and her devoted staff continue to repeat their mantra of “everything is up from here”, and their early morning skates have been enthusiastic and well calculated. There is no doubt that great things are to come for the fifteen skaters and one rather remarkable goalkeeper.

The Ranger’s will face the Woolwich Wild in a home and home series on Thursday in St. Jacobs and Friday back in Kitchener, before travelling to Fort Erie to take on an American Team in the West Seneca Wings.

With three games in three days the Lady Rangers will be put to the test on their conditioning early in the year, this should help create a road map for the Coaches and Team Trainer Erika Paling to gauge appropriately what areas need to be focused on before the season begins in early October.

As Season Scheduling is to be complete following the September 30th meetings, the Kitchener Girls also must begin to prepare for their first tournament which is the Oktoberfest Invitational (a first for Kitchener Girls Hockey) taking place October 19-21st in partnership with Bauer Hockey.

Momentum and anticipation for what is expected to be an exciting and educational year for the girls continues to create ground swell. Best of luck to all the players, staff and incredibly passionate fans of this year’s Atom B Kitchener Lady Rangers.
