Road Warriors
Rangers looking for a scoring spark to lead them into a full weekend of Road Games. With only one goal in their first two games, the Kitchener Girls are looking for ways to fill the net and find their confidence.

Starting the season with a 0-1 and 1 record was not the perfect beginning; there is a great deal of room for optimism. Sporting a greater than 92% save percentage, Rookie Ranger backstop Sam has been spectacular, earning a shutout on the Road in Fergus last Sunday. So far this preseason and early into the regular season, Sam has repeatedly done the unbelievable.

Now the Ladies face three road games in three days, with the first being Friday night in Preston to face the Roadrunners. Saturday as part of the IIHF World Women’s Hockey Day in Waterloo, our Lady Rangers will face the crosstown rival Ravens. Playing on the rink right next to them during the game will be such Canadian National Program Stars like Tessa Bonhomme, Sami Jo Small, Christina Kessler, Rebecca Johnston, Natalie Spooner and Jenn Wakefield from the CWHL Toronto Furies as well Cherie Piper, Gillian Apps, Vicki Bendus, Lori Dupuis, Jayna Hefford, and Liz Knox from the Brampton Hockey Club of the CWHL.

Sunday will see the Kitchener team travel to Brantford to take on the Ice Cats. With such an exciting and busy weekend the Rangers will be sure to gel as a team. Practices have been hard and intense yet always seem to have an air of fun and frivolity.

After a full weekend on the road, the Rangers return home next weekend to take part in the 39th Annual Kitchener Oktoberfest Atom Tournament as one of the first ever all female teams to do so. Good Luck Girls, a whole city stands behind you.
