Round One
The first round of the 2012 -2013 LLFHL playoffs are complete and what a round it was!
After 22 regular season games, the Kitchener Lady Rangers opened the first round of the West Division playoffs against the Windsor Wildcats. The opening game was a lack luster affair for the Lady Rangers which afforded the Wildcats with a well deserved 2 – 0 win.
Two weeks later in Windsor, with the Lady Rangers facing elimination, the Lady’s settled in, played some Lady Ranger Hockey and made the long, stormy drive home worthwhile with a 4 -1 victory.
A day later, the stage was set for a one game winner take all back in Kitchener. After being down a goal twice in the game Ms. Dixon showed true Lady Ranger heart and determination by winning not one, but two puck battles, resulting in both Kitchener goals. Forty seven minutes of entertaining hockey had everyone on the edge of their seats as game three would come down to a shoot out. Ms. Fisher took matters into her own hands by stopping all three Windsor shooters and Ms. Johnston sealed the victory scoring on Kitcheners first attempt. Thanks to all the Windsor ladies for a great first round.
On behalf of Amber, Bill and Tim, congratulations on your first round win ladies. As exciting as is was, please understand a more determined effort will be required to beat the Devilettes. Welcome to round two!
