End Of Regular Season
Congratulations on your great effort in a 2-0 shut out victory in the last game of the regular season. We ended up with a 5-15-2 W-L-T record. This may not sound so good but considering we played 10 games against the top 3 B teams in our division it puts us at a .500 hockey club after that....
Our season highlights so far have been a very good team bonding tournament up in Orillia in which we learned what it takes to become a TEAM. All 5 of our victories in league play came at times when we desperately needed them for a moral boost. We also played the KLR Midget B team 3 times and all games were pretty close but the last one in which they beat us 2-1 could have gone either way.
Looking ahead we have tournaments in Brantford and Nottawasaga and we have already qualified for Provincials in Ottawa in April. Next week we start Lower Lakes playoffs and I think we have a great chance of advancing to Championship Weekend in late March.
There is still alot of hockey left for this team as the 2nd season is just beginning and from here on we play teams that are in our category. I believe that with a lot of effort and determination we have the opportunity to WIN all of our remaining events, but we still have lots of improving and work to be done at every game and practice.
So remember girls, give 100%, play with urgency and desperation, want the puck, remember our breakout, protect our defensive zone, dump and chase, 2-1-2 forecheck, Go to the net AND take it 1 shift at a time.
YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!!!!
Lets give our most loyal fans, our Parents lots to cheer about in THE SECOND SEASON!!
