Kitchener ‘AA’ Bantam Jr. Ranges host Ice Pirates for exhibition game
On December 19th the ‘AA’ Bantam Jr. Rangers
hosted many of the Kitchener Ice Pirates and Jr. Ice Pirates for a practice /
exhibition game. The Rangers and Ice
Pirates integrated with each other and went through some drills together before
lining up for the big game.
From the drop of the puck the Ice Pirates came out flying and scored 3 goals before the Rangers woke up. The Rangers made it close but in the end the Ice Pirates came out victorious with a 6-3 win. The ice was filled with smiles from both sides and although the score was one-sided, both teams proved to be winners that night.
Following the game the Ranger families hosted a pot-luck party for the Ice Pirates families which was capped off by an appearance from Santa. It was a wonderful way to head into the holiday break for the team.
Big thanks to Kirsten Carr and Rod Dunkel for setting up this amazing game. Additional thanks to the Ranger parents for providing the food and post-game festivities. It was nice to have both teams interacting on AND off the ice. Of course many would argue the MVP of the night was Santa, for taking time out of his busy schedule to make an appearance at the event.
The Jr. Rangers 2nd half will commence Tuesday January 15th, when they host the Burlington Bulldogs and make a push to be amongst the top of the standings heading into the play-offs.
Go Rangers Go!
