After a long evaluation period, the Bombers finally played their first game against the Inferno; a solid 5 – 2 win to start the season.
There were a lot of really impressive plays throughout the game, as well strong goaltending by Venning & Chaytor. The clear factor in the win seemed to be our mighty defense – Starr, Schleimer, Paisley & Hoffarth. They were able to keep the puck in the Inferno end for extended periods of time, leading to many scoring chances. Hoffarth & Paisley each scored for the Bombers. Starr earned an assist by chipping the puck up to Pearson, who carried it to the net and rebounded in by Hammell. Schleimer also had a few aggressive runs to the net. Cormier & Thornton rounded out the scoring for the Bombers.
The play is exciting and fast this year; looking forward to a great season!
