Why Choose Ice Pirates Intermediate/Senior?
Players on the Inter/Sr team should be able to skate forwards, follow instructions, and understand the basic rules of hockey.  The speed within practices and games is faster than at the Junior level with the focus on increasing hockey skills and working together as a team.
  • 4:1 support from On-Ice Helpers throughout practices.
  • Approximately 14 games (home & away) throughout the season.
  • Players will participate in hockey drills to improve their skills

Skills that the Inter/Sr team develop include:
  • Skating – forward, backward, falling, and getting back up; stopping, starting, and turns
  • Puck handling – skating while having a puck on their stick
  • Passing – to fellow teammates
  • Shooting – skating towards the net with the puck and shooting
  • Defence & Forward positions
  • General understanding of the game and playing as a team

The Inter/Sr team practices at Activa Sportsplex on Saturdays afternoons.

Each of the Ice Pirates teams is open to players of any age, with players being placed on a team based on their ability while on the ice.  We promote social engagement and friendships throughout practices.
