2nd Annual Rangers vs. Ice Pirates exhibition game a great success
The Kitchener Jr. Rangers hosted the Kitchener Ice Pirates to a practice / exhibition game on Monday December 16th at the Activa Sportsplex (PJD). Both teams were integrated together for a practice where the Rangers worked 1 on 1 with the Ice Pirates ranging from 4 to 30 years old.
Once the practice was done, the stage was set for the 2nd annual exhibition game between the two squads. In a tight game the Ice Pirates defeated the Rangers 5-4, but most would argue both teams came out as winners. A special thank you goes out to the Ranger parents for organizing and hosting both teams for a post game party in the Murray Fried Room. No Christmas party would be complete without an appearance from Santa Claus himself, a huge thanks to him for taking time out of his busy schedule to spend with the players.
Thank you to the Ice Pirates for coming out and spending time with our team, it was a great experience for our whole organization!
The Rangers hope to harness some of that energy as they travel to Burlington on Wednesday to take on the Bulldogs. Game-time is 7:30PM at the Mainway Rec. Centre.
