Jr. Rangers Atom AA off to OHF Championship
The 2003 born Kitchener Jr Rangers Atom AA Hockey club have pulled off a double Championship.

After earning the Alliance Constellation League Championship title at the end of the regular season, the Jr. Rangers knew that every team would be gunning for them in playdowns.

With a 20 day hiatus (without games due to a 1st round bye) behind them, their Semi-Final match-up pitted them against an impressive Cambridge Hawks team that works hard every shift and does not quit. The Jr. Rangers were all business in the series which led them to a series sweep over the aggressive Hawks.

The Championship series would see the Jr. Rangers face-off against arch-rival London Jr Knights Green. The high-octane Jr. Knights led the league in scoring so everyone knew that it was going to be an epic battle from the get go.

Fast forward to game #5 - the Jr. Rangers lead the best of 7 series, 3 games to 1. The stands at Grand River Arena in the East-end of Kitchener are full to the rafters. The camera crews are out in full force and the air horns, cow bells, penny shakers and echo's of "POUND the ROCK" chants, create that intense atmosphere reserved only for fierce, playoff competition. As the final buzzer sounds, the Jr. Rangers exchange high fives and hugs and leap over the boards, gathering at the net in celebration of their thrilling, convincing... 6-1 championship winning victory.

The Atom AA's now have their sights set on the Ontario Hockey Federation Championship tournament which takes place in Sault St. Marie over the April 10-13 weekend. Representing not only the City of Kitchener, but the entire MHAO membership, the boys will be put to the test against championship teams from the GTHL, OMHA, NOHA and host team - Soo Jr. Greyhounds.

Congratulations to all of the players as well as the coaching staff !

On behalf of the Jr. Rangers, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the parents, siblings, relatives, friends, sponsors, as well as the KMHA office staff and Executive for all of your support.

We would also like to thank our Alliance competitors for pushing us to be our very best each and every game this season - we are truly excited and looking forward to representing all of you in the Sault !
