Player Meetings & Dryland
Although we had no ice this week the coaching staff had a fantastic and rewarding week with the boys. We just came off a tough loss against the Hamilton Tigers which saw our comeback prove too little too late. The following day we followed up with a great win against St Catherines. Way to go boys!
This week we had two dryland sessions followed by our player and coach meetings. This was a great opportunity to chat one on one with each player and ask them questions like........Are you having fun? What are you doing well so far this year? What do you think you need to work on? and also what are your goals?
Each meeting was unique in its own right with answers ranging from modest to surprising but in the end the coaching staff and the boys learned from the process and got a chance to express their feelings, thoughts, and goals. We will continue to use the players answers along with what the coaching staff expects from the each individual player as we move forward.
The boys worked so hard at dryland this week and we know these sessions will start to show on the ice with our conditioning. The coaching staff is looking forward to November and seeing if we can put together a few more back to back wins.
