2 Well Played Games
The Lady Rangers took on a tough and fast Twin Centre Hericanes team on December 15 th. The Hericanes came out flying in the first period with 2 goals. They took a 3 to nothing lead into the third period. The Lady Rangers kept plugging away with Megan (assists Jenna and Maggie)finally picking up a goal early in the third period to cut the lead. Calista then notched a goal to bring the Lady Rangers within one goal. Twin Centre scored an insurance goal very late in the third period to take a 4 to 2 win. Macy played really well in net.
On December 21 the Lady Rangers hosted the Wilmot Wolverines. The Wilmot goaltender played fantastic in the first period keeping an attacking the attacking Lady Rangers off the score sheet. Early in the second period Maggie got the team rolling on a great passing play (assists Jess and Megan). The Lady Rangers went into the third period up 1 to 0.
Early in the third period Megan notched a goal on a hard shot to put the team up 2 to 0. Calista working hard then got the first of her two goals (assisted by Abby) to round out the score and a 4 to 0 victory.
Skyla recorded the shutout.
The whole team played a great game at both ends of the rink.
Strong defensive work by the D crew of Jaime, Marley, Jess, Jordan and Abby.
The Lady Rangers hit the ice next on December 29 in New Hamburg against Wilmot.
