Lower Lakes Play Offs
The Lady Rangers beat the Wilmot Wolverines 2 games to 0 to win their first round of Lower Lakes play offs.
Game 1 was a close affair with the Lady Rangers pulling off a 2 to 1 win. Megan scored one and Alyssa got the winner on an exciting penalty shot.
In Game 2 the Lady Rangers were able to overcome a bit of a slow start and pull off a 4 to 0 win and take the series. Goal scorers were Tessa, Jenna and Megan (with two). Macy got the shut out. The whole team pulled together to get the win. Great work by the defense corps keeping Wilmot to the outside in our end.
The Lady Rangers will now face the Belmont Blazers in the next round.
The Lady Rangers also had an opportunity to take on the Markham Stouffville Stars in an exhibition game at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto before a Marlies game. Despite carrying the play and out shooting the Stars, the Lady Rangers were not able to put one past a solid Stars goalie. The game ended in a 0 to 0 tie. Skyla recorded the shut out. It was a fun experience and a big Thank You to the parents for your support with this game.
The girls are now focused on their OWHA Play Down games with Cambridge, Woolwich and Twin Centre that will take place over the next 3 weeks.
