Applefest Girl's Hockey Tournament
It was an exciting Friday morning as we made our way to Clarington for our first away tournament. An upbeat start in a small rink at the Orno arena had our girl's win 3-1 playing a solid game against the Aurora Panthers.
A short rest and we were back at the rink again playing our friendly neighbors the Waterloo Ravens. A one sided penalty filled game and an empty net goal left us with a 0-3 loss.
Back to the hotel for recuperation, the players provided ice to ensure everyone stayed COOL !
A good night's sleep and off to the rink we had our team play a tough Clarington Flames team winning 1-0 to put us in the championship game against you know who, our friendly neighbors!
Our return game with the Waterloo Ravens had our team short benched on defence in one of the best games played this season. An exciting game both ways had our team lose 0-1 in the last minute of the game. A quiet ride home, regroup and practice.
Our #6 Lindsay McIntyre was presented with the sick chic of the week for her scoring and two way play at the tournament and practices.
