Epic Season Capped off with Alliance Gold!
Despite going winless in Day One of the Alliance Championships in St. Catharines, KJR Minor Peewee Blue then reeled off three consecutive wins to capture Alliance Gold with a 3-0 shutout victory of North London.

KJR opened up Friday's round robin play with a game versus the Nationals.  A lacklustre performance by KJR combined with the Nat's suffocating defence resulted in a 2-2 tie - a tie the Rangers were lucky to grab.

On Friday afternoon, the West-winning London Bandits Orange were KJR's opponent.  KJR stepped up, dominating the play but stellar goaltending play the Bandits netminder proved too much for the Rangers, as they dropped game two 3-1.

Saturday morning, KJR was in a must-win situation as they needed the two points to reach the semi-final later that afternoon.  Their opponent was the vastly improved host St Catharines Hurricanes.  Rangers scored late in the first period and never looked back, skating to a convincing 5-1 win, leaving the Rangers with a semi-final tilt with the Bandits Orange.

The Rangers outplayed and outworked the Bandits from the opening puck drop to the final whistle.  Again, their goaltending was solid but the Ranger offensive onslaught was simply too overpowering as the Rangers took the semi 4-1 and a rematch with North London in Sunday's final.

Before Sundays final, you could see the Rangers focus and determination during the pregame warmup.  Although the first period finished scoreless, the Ranger's focus was very evident as they controlled most of the play.  A 4-on-4 halfway through the second period proved to be the "TSN Turning Point" as the Rangers potted two highlight goals within a minute - the only goals of the period, leaving the Rangers a lead heading into the final frame.  Strong forechecking and backchecking along with timely saves proved fatal for the Nats.  The Rangers scored a third and that was all she wrote.

What an epic season...a trip to Univ. of Notre Dame, several team bonding events, 62 games, three tournament finals, two tournament golds, an Alliance East title and then the optimal goal of Alliance Gold.  These kids came to the rink to work hard, to learn, to bond and to improve and because of all that, they persevered.  The coaching staff couldn't be more proud of these 17 boys.  This is a season for the ages and one that the staff, the parents and most importantly, the players won't soon forget.
