Open Season: A Date With The Devilettes
Having only been together for only a month, the 2014/2015 Kitchener Lady Rangers Peewee BB team is full of promise and passion. Each and every member of this sixteen girl squad has already proven their drive and desire to not only succeed at this level; they have also eagerly expressed a deep hunger to learn as much as they possibly can about This Game. A deep hunger that Coach David Mark and his Staff are more than qualified to feed.

As the Belles in Blue open their season this Saturday, coincidently during the IIHF’s 2014 World Girl’s Ice Hockey Weekend, they have invited the Devilettes of London into the Lady Ranger Sanctuary of ‘The Don’ (Don McLaren). Preparing for the tough physical team that London often fields is no easy task for the Rangers, however this tight knit group of girls is ready to defend each other and their Home Barn.

With such a talented mix of returning veterans and first year players, the season looks to be exciting bordering on breathtaking. Proven goal scorers up front and a confident shut down rear guard, these Ladies certainly don’t lack experience, and even between the pipes this team is positively passionate and prepared.

Sunday will mark the first travel game for the girls as they load up and drive to Fergus for another epic contest against Coach Bender’s equally prepared Grand River Mustangs. Although his off-ice persona is charming, Coach Bender’s attention to detail on the ice can only be rivaled by the Ranger’s own Coach David Mark. The Coaches know each other and the girls know each other, but on the ice it will be a battle to the very last buzzer.

Things are looking up for the Kitchener Lady Rangers Peewee BB this season, yet there are many games to be played. Confidence and Personal Growth will dictate how far this team can go, but one glance into the sixteen sets of eyes on this team will tell you just how dedicated, how driven, and how determined these young ladies are to succeed together, on the ice and off.

Best of Luck Lady Rangers, and no matter where this season takes you, make sure you get there together.
