LLFHL Round Two vs. the Canadettes
The second round of the 2014 -2015 LLFHL playoffs are
complete and if you enjoyed Round one, Round two was
equally exciting!
After a three game series with the North York Storm, the Kitchener Lady Rangers opened up round two of the LLFHL Playoffs against the Brampton Canadettes. In a faster paced first game, the Lady Rangers fell 4 to 1 to the Canadettes who played with more urgency and determination than our ladies.
The return trip to Brampton two days later had both teams playing some great hockey that left all involved fans on the edge of their seats. With the score tied 0 – 0 late in the third, Ms. Krasinski put the Rangers up by one with just over two minutes remaining. An empty netter (also by Ms. Krasinski) sealed game two for the ladies, with a winner take all game three a week later back at the Activa Sportsplex.
In game three the Lady Rangers drove the bus, settled in with an early second period time out to re-group and headed into the break with a 3 – 0 lead. While the Canadettes played hard and outshot the Rangers in the third, the ladies held on for a well-deserved victory. Thanks to all the Canadette ladies for a great second round. You are a skilled and well coached team who battled us hard all season. We wish you good luck in Playdowns.
