Gold Jersey Recipient - Week 20
Last but definitely not least, Sadie has earned the Gold Jersey all year and I am proud and sad to see her finally get it.
Proud because Sadie has been a great leader this year. In the beginning I saw her helping other girls and starting our team cheer. Throughout the year she has shown her leadership by working hard and being aggressive on the puck. I don't believe in picking captains or assistant captains at this age but in my eyes Sadie has been the leader of this team in a lot of ways.
Sad to see her finally get the jersey as it means our year is coming to an end.
Wins and goals have been allusive this year but our girls have shown heart to the end of every game as well as keeping a positive attitude. I think it is safe to say we are all proud of our girls in how far they have grown as hockey players and learning that as fun as winning is it isn't everything.
We have three games left plus our Brantford tournament. Plenty of time to have fun, try and fine tune some of the things they have learned and get some more pucks to the net.
Hockey is awesome, girls just want to have fun and LIONS ROAR.
