Year End Champions, Atomc Black!
Brett Herniman was the overtime hero for Atomc Black as they continued to be the only undefeated tournament team in the league with a 3-2 win!

Jason Cripp Christmas Tournamant, Jayden Elmour Memorial Tournament and Year End Tournamant champions! Atomc Black has never lost a game in a tournament. In fact, they have lost very few games in what has been a tremendous season. The boys have battled together for 29 wins, 3 ties and 3 loses over the season.

It was a complete team effort and the players really steeped up their games and never stopped working. After going up a goal by Owen Chard in the second period the Blue team rallied back to tie things. With only 1:59 to go in the game Blue scored to take the lead. Black refused to allow that to be their season. Pulling the goalie with only 59 seconds to go the boys won the faceoff and cycled the puck in the zone firing shots on net and battling low for rebounds before Braydon Houlihan tied the game with 13.4 seconds remaining.

In the overtime the play went back and forth before Herniman was alone in front and a Blue player threw his stick causing an automatic penalty shot. Herniman made no mistakes.

Owen Chard, Herniman and Brody Voll had assists in the game.

The tournament win has rewarded the Black team the chance to play in The Record Cup on Tuesday, an every two year grudge match between Kitchener and Waterloo, as well as, an opportunity to represent Kitchener in the Alliance Tournament in London next weekend.

The coaches of the Black team are extremely proud of all the players. They came together as a true team and always back each other. It has been very special for us to watch them grow and work so hard. Thank you boys for the memories you have given us and believe in yourselves as much as we believe in you!

Bo Black!
