Bulldogs Spirit

As we wrap up another season of the best sport, I want to highlight why the Bulldogs rock.  The team had a great start to the season, claiming a tie and win right off the hopper.

Throughout the season, the Bulldogs experienced victory wins, a few ties, and some losses.

It was awesome to see the team change dynamics during the Jayden Elmore London tourney.  They pushed back and worked hard right to the end, which wasn't easy in a tourney where the teams the Bulldogs played against were all Majors, with our team being mainly Minors.  Our size was deceiving.  The boys surprised the Oakville teams, and forced a competitive battle in both ends for all 3 games.

After the tourney, it was evident how the boys took the skills learned and applied on the ice, as most of the games were exciting, and nail-biters.  5 losses over the season were only by 1-goal differences, and the Bulldogs tied a team that fell in the top tier in the play-offs.  It's because of the Bulldogs spirit and drive to become a better team.

The boys enjoyed a team building opportunity during the London tourney, and at Sky Zone in February.  One of my most memorable moments was when I was allowed to jump with the kids for a few mins at Sky Zone but was almost immediately taken out by Gavin in Dodgeball, and how all the boys were just so happy and cheered.  I should have known Coaches are prime targets.  The Bulldogs are not done yet!!  The boys will celebrate the end of the hockey season with Paintball next wkd (which I am definitely not participating in ...sorry Bulldogs).

The Bulldogs are truly an amazing group of kids.  I know it wasn't easy to experience loss after loss at times.  As a player, I've been there and know that feeling.  But it's inappropriate and unjustified to forget the victories, the close ties and improvement seen throughout the season.

It's the tenacious work and SPIRIT of the Bulldogs - not to mention the laughs along the journey, that made the Bulldogs a fine group of gentlemen.
