Kitchener Jr Rangers Minor Atom MD Red Team Comes Together to Give Back
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Minor Atom MD Red team met on November 22, 2015 off the ice to give back to our community. The boys met as a team to shop for a family of 5 that we were matched to through the Holiday Support Program (formerly Adopt-a-Family) offered by Family and Child Services. This program provides families and youth in need in Waterloo Region with gifts during the holiday season.
The boys were put into smaller groups and assigned a family member to buy for. They were handed a wish list of things to buy and a budget to spend. They set off with their carts and list and worked to get as much on the lists without going over budget. About an hour later as each cart arrived at the checkout the boys were excited by what they had picked out for the family member on their list.
This was a great opportunity for team building and more importantly to teach the boys social responsibility and giving back to their community! A HUGE thank you goes out to our amazing social committee for organizing this experience for our boys.
