The
final home game of the LLFHL 2015 / 2016 regular season had the Lady Rangers
meeting the Saugeen – Maitland Lightning at the Grand River Arena.
Coming into the final weekend of LLFHL regular season play, the ladies played an aggressive Saugeen – Maitland Lightning team. With points needed by both sides, physical play dominated much of the games forty two minutes. Being right where she should be, Ms. Piitz opened up the scoring in the first. The ladies second goal was a great end to end by Ms. Allen who finished the rush with a top shelf rocket, which was the eventual game winner. Although not a pretty goal (nor do they have to be), a somewhat broken play allowed Ms. Feledi to put the ladies up by two and grab a well-earned two points. All the Kitchener players, parents and staff would like to acknowledge the Saugeen – Maitland’s goalie “TSN Highlight of the Night” save in the second. Great hand-eye coordination saved what most thought was a sure goal! Well done!
Congratulations to Ms. Piitz as our “skittles player of the game”. You are continuing to work hard and doing what we are asking of you. We are glad you were rewarded for your efforts tonight.
