After a three game series with the Owen Sound Hawks, the Kitchener Lady
Rangers opened up round two of the LLFHL Playoffs against the Oakville Hornets.
In a faster paced first game, the Lady Rangers opened the scoring in the first off of a nice deflected shot. Although shots were even in the second, the Hornets capitalized on two Lady Ranger miscues to take a 2 – 1 lead heading into the break. While out-shooting Oakville in the third, the Hornets were able to hold on for the “W”.
The return mid-week trip home had both teams playing some great hockey that left all involved fans on the edge of their seats. With the score tied 0 – 0 late in the third, the Hornets put an “end over end” shot on goal that would be the only one of the “thirty three” shots to get past Ms. Beacom. Congratulations to the Hornets on a well-deserved round two victory. You remain the most complete team that we have played throughout the season. Best of luck in round three!
Ladies, Bill, Ken, Sarah, Tim and I are proud of all your efforts this season. Your continued work ethic, drive and never say die attitude will carry you far throughout that most important game called “life”. Congratulations on a great LLFHL season!
