Cripps Tourney
I believe it is okay to say that we are all proud of how ours girls played this weekend. It was great to see how close this tournament was. The average goal differential in our pool was one. Thank you to every one that volunteered their time and/or contributed to the silent auction.
It is funny how scoring goes sometimes, last tourney all of the points came from one line, this tournament all the points came from the other two lines.
Our last Gold Jersey winner, Ariana was not at the tournament and was missed.
We had so many positives in this tournament that I wish we could have given MVP pucks to everyone. Kiara, Amberly, Jaden and Jillian were all very deserving to receive this tournaments MVP pucks.
Some highlights: Molly played great, even when she felt very sick the one game; Amberly got her first goal ever, while playing forward; Hailey kept the players to the out side on the breakaways and made a number of blocks though out the tournament; Abby got our only penalty, an iffy call but she plays hard as she should and those calls will happen, Chloe played centre for the first time this year and we got to see a glipse at how fast she can be.
The second half of the schedule is finalized now, not set in stone but, you can at least plan kind of schedule around it. The second half of the schedule looks a lot better in regards to being very evenly spread out and lacking the long breaks between games that we had in the first half.
I hope everyone is as excited moving forward as the coaching staff is.
