Hello,
Kitchener Minor Hockey Association is looking for volunteers for the Jason Cripps Christmas Tournament which is being held December 27 to 30th. We will have just over 180 teams and 670 games which is a very large tournament. The tournament will run from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. As you all know it takes a lot of dedicated, hardworking individuals to make a successful tournament. We are looking for volunteers to help with following areas:
Silent Auction
The volunteer for the Silent Auction is responsible for monitoring of the room to ensure prizes remain in the room and the bid sheets are looked after. If you are working on the final day you will have to collect the bid sheets on closing.
This is a great opportunity for STUDENT VOLUNTEER HOURS.
Convenors
Rink Convenors are responsible for:
- Ensuring that the officials are on time. If the officials are late, the Rink Convenor would be responsible for contacting the KMHA On-call Person and informing them of the situation.
- Retrieving the white copy of the game sheets from the timekeeper after every game to be provided to the Director at the end of each day
- Calling in the results of each game to the KMHA Designated Official
- Handing out the “goodie bags” to each team that plays their first game at that arena (You will be notified as to which teams require bags)
- Assisting with or handing out trophies during Championship games (on the last day of the tournament)
- Answering questions people may have or directing those questions to the Director (Directors contact information will be supplied in the Officials Sign-in books)
- FOR GIRLS TEAMS ONLY:
o Ensuring all players and each coaching staff sign the game sheet before each game
Announcing and playing music at the games
The volunteer of announcing and playing music is responsible for:
- Either playing music during stoppages of play and/or
o NOTE: In most instances music will need to be supplied by the person playing the music
o Music MUST BE appropriate (no curse words/explicit language, no references to drugs/alcohol, no violence)
o Cords will be supplied
- Announcing of goals/penalties and last minute of play for the first period, second period and game
o Required equipment will be supplied

Running the Shooting Gallery
The volunteer for the Shooting Gallery is responsible for:
- Monitoring use of the game
- Resetting of the game
This is a great opportunity for STUDENT VOLUNTEER HOURS.
