BIYT "Believe In Your Team"
This photo was taken after a 3-2 loss to Oshawa in out 1st Tournament of the year in Peterborough.  What happened next was truly extraordinary!

We had just out shot Oshawa Jr Generals 25-13 and played a courageous game!  The buzzer went to end the game and I was on the bench putting water bottles in the case with my head down contemplating our 0-4 start to the season. One of the other Coaches told me to look up and what I saw truly changed my whole outlook on this season.
The boys united together and were celebrating as if they had won the game!  In that moment the stress of being 0-4 to start the season left me and I felt a sense of relief that we were going to be just fine.  It was the boys reminding us what hockey is and should be about and that is teamwork, having fun, friendships and believing in your team (BIYT). The boys left the ice chanting "were Blue were White were dynamite"  We went in to the dressing and I said we are glad you guys are happy but you know we lost right?  One of the kids replied we know but we were awesome, we were all over them!

The next game in the Tournament we played the Peterborough Petes one of the top teams in the Tournament and we tied them 2-2 again out shooting them and playing the majority of the game in their end.  The boys were improving each game and were proud of themselves.

The final game was against a very good Whitby Wildcats.  We were down 1-0 after the first minute of play but the boys rallied around each other and scored 5 unanswered goals to claim out 1st win as a team!  The boys were ecstatic.

Unfortunately we did not make it through to the semis.  However this weekend we came together as a team.  Friendships were formed, we bonded as a team and we improved every game!

The coaches are so proud of these boys and are confident that the wins will come!  As I write this on Thanksgiving Day we are so thankful we have the opportunity to coach these young men!
