Rangers Win MD East/Central Alliance Finalists 2016/17
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Red team won the MD East/Central Alliance Finalists Award with a defeat to the Waterloo Wolves Black 4 to 2 Saturday.

The Rangers have had a tremendous season winning the Bradford Blue and Gold Championships, Cambridge MD Festival and Guelph Power Play Championship to go along with their Brantford Wayne Gretzky Finalists and now MD East/Central Alliance Finalists. The team is now looking forward to the opportunity to achieve their season long goal of an Alliance banner April 7 to 9 in St. Catherine’s!

The Rangers got off to the start they wanted on a delayed penalty call with Yianni Peppas opening the scoring with a beauty from the point after Justin Hay made a great play getting the puck to the point. However, the lead was short lived and the Rangers fell behind. Nicholas Zammit gave the Rangers hope with a goal to cut the Wolves lead in half but sadly for the Rangers it just wasn’t enough. The Rangers Red team will look to repeat history after failing to win the MD East/Central Alliance Final and then go onto the Alliance and win it all like the Rangers Red team of last season.

Although the boys are feeling the sting of defeat right now they spoke in the room about how great teams face adversity and move forward together. The Rangers wil learn from the loss and go to St. Catherine’s confident in themselves and ready to battle hard to win their fourth championship of the season.

A huge thank you to the players for all their work this season and for the amzing memories. The coaches can't wait to head to the Alliance Champioships with you all and the players have nothing but full support and trust of the coaches.

Go Rangers!
