Tryout process
The selection process for 2016-17 M/Midget Red team will consist of 5, and possible 6 evaluation sessions. The first round of releases will be performed online after the second ice time. Further releases will be made after each subsequent skate. At this point we are awaiting confirmations from other centres regarding tryout exhibition games however nothing has been finalized yet. Please be aware our schedule could change.
Players on this team will be required to commit to up to 20 team-related functions monthly including activities or play on holiday weekends and other break times including the Christmas holiday break. Tournaments have not been finalized however I hope to have that information out shortly. We are looking at one out-of-town tournament which could be a significant distance away. Remaining tournaments will be fairly proximal. I also expect to have a rough budget available early in this tryout process for families to consider. I would expect total team fees to be in the $1800-2100 range including extra practice ice-time, possible conditioning programs, and our tournament fees among other items.
I wish to thank each player and their family to committing to the challenge of tryout out for M/Midget Red. For players and their families who are fortunate to secure a spot I will also firmly add that the distribution of ice time during our season is completely non-negotiable and determined by the coaching staff along with the effort, performance, and attitude of our players. The positions of our players will be made with player's input, and not that of parents.
