Stuffin Stockings, Giving Back
The Novice B Kitchener Lady Rangers took the opportunity last week to give back to their community. The girls worked together as a team to purchase and stuff 16 stockings for girls in need in our community, helping them to feel special and remembered on Christmas Day.
There were lots of smiles and laughs as the girls stuffed stockings, knowing they were helping others. Stuffin Stockings began in 2010 with a simple goal in mind....to send 1 or 2 stockings out to some children in need in Waterloo Region. It has grown each year from 200 stockings to 1800 stockings distributed last year. Stuffin Stockings was started by St Jacob's mum and entrepreneur Carolyn Parks, but was officially adopted by the Lions Club of St. Jacobs in its third year and is now a group 'elf' effort thanks to the efforts of this service minded club and other volunteers.
