After 21 Regular Season games, the
Kitchener Lady Rangers Midget A’s played their most meaningful game of the
season on Friday.
With 21 games under their belts, the ladies found themselves in the 8th and final playoff spot in an extremely tight Central West Division. With the Twisters just points behind and the Gryphons and Hornets just points ahead, the ladies needed a strong effort against the Roadrunners. And what an effort it was! The ladies came out on fire in the first outshooting and out chancing the Roadrunners. A few momentary lapses in the second kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Several amazing saves (if they were of age, a few bottles of wine would be owed!!) kept the ladies up by one heading into the break. A hard and smart third, a pulled goalie and an empty netter finally ended the game and had the ladies making it to the playoffs “own their own”.
Congratulations ladies. Well deserved!!
