Hockey Homework week 3 - passing

Sorry I am a little tardy on the hockey homework, short week so running a bit behind. Practice this week will focus a lot on passing (making a pass and receiving a pass) . I have heard from many a great coach over the years that you cannot do a lot of things in hockey if your players do not know how to make and receive a good pass! The video this week does have some more advanced stuff in it but it also breaks down the fundamentals on how to make a good sweep pass and how to receive one. This is an absolute critical skill to work on with the girls before we go forward with more advanced drills (breakouts, defensive/offensive zone positioning etc.). If you have a green biscuit practice puck or stickhandling ball it works really well in getting kids to get their feet and stick position correct to make and receive passes. Following through to the target is another key element that the video covers.
