Great tournament weekend girls
I think we are all proud of our girls this weekend. We fought hard and we were in every game that we played right to the end. If pucks off the post counted as goals we would have won everyone of our games. The last team we lost to beat Waterloo Ravens #1 in the Semi Finals to go on and Loose 1-0 to another Oakville team. I believe we might have had one of the harder pools as two of the teams from our pool made it to the semi finals.
I thought we played as a team never backed down and they all grew as hockey players.
I would like to give a shout out to our MVP's of the tournament. Molly in the first game, even Nick Kypreo's said Molly was an exceptional goalie (he had a daughter on the Leaside team). In the second game we saw Jocelyn take some huge steps digging in the corners going straight at girls with the puck, battling and starting to get a couple of breakaways. Brooklyn has been such a versatile player all year, one of our three centres with stints on the wing and filling in for defence. She always seems to be trying her hardest and doesn't leave anything in the tank winning her the player of the game for the last game.
One of our favourite memories from the tournament was when we got Molly dressed really quick so she could play the third period for another team whose goalie got injured in the second period. She played really well making a couple huge glove saves and shutting the door that period.
We forgot to hand out the gold Jersey this week (Brooklyn bring it to the DS practice tomorrow) and will hand it out at dryland tomorrow.
