Kingston Canadians Tournament Semi-finalists
Coaches, parents, and fans trekked to Kingston to support the Seeded Blue Team this weekend. Even though we had a short bench, the players did not disappoint. The boys put the pressure on to earn their spot at the top of the pool with an impressive 4 straight wins. The goalies manned the pipes to mark 3 shut-outs!!
During the semi-finals, after a tricky 1st period which saw the team down on the scoreboard, the Rangers proved they were not out of the game by rallying back to almost tie it up despite some questionable calls by the striped shirts. Once again, notwithstanding a man disadvantage for much of the 2nd period, the team pulled together and refused to give up. The effort and skill that was showcased with spectacular passing provided the fans with a very exciting game to watch!! It was great hockey which demonstrated team play at its best.
The coaches have been encouraging the players to focus on preparation as the key to success for the team. The continued dedication by everyone to play with respect and class has been evident both on and off the ice. We are so proud of the efforts of our Kitchener Jr Rangers this weekend, and are enthusiastically awaiting the start of the Bristol Division games.
