Rangers Tie Best in West
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Red team faced off against the best in the west, the West London Hawks, and tied 3 to 3 in an entertaining game.

The Rangers played like the Beasts from the East and once again dominated puck possession. The Rangers played 22 minutes of short handed hockey and still outshot the Hawks 28 to 22.

The Hawks used those penalties to get their goals and all three were with the man advantage. Connor Coughlin opened the scoring for the Rangers with a beauty shot that beat the goalie. Nicholas Zammit and Ethan Lafleur had assists on the goal. Jacob Reid-Brant had a pair of goals for the Rangers. His first was set up by Aydan Costello and the second goal was fed by Carter Niall and Jacob Fisher.

Aiden Radatus earned the tie and was solid for the Rangers. In the third period especially when he was tested with seven shots and had to stand tall. Radatus made some big kick saves and tracked the puck very well.

In the second period Daniel Gubbels and Ryan McConnell were instrumental in killing ten minutes of penalties. The defence pair of Yianni Peppas and Kailum Belanic were fantastic again going plus 3 and plus two respectively. The Hawks crashed the net well and Kodi Blackshaw, Logan Hock, Noah Park and Keenan Hack had to play tough minutes boxing the Hawk forwards out. Kudos to all the defenders in the game.

The coaches were extremely pleased with the players for their perseverance and never give up attitudes. Three times the Rangers were a goal down and the players never stopped working hard or looked to place any blame. The team is showing they are capable of winning any game and are happy to put in the work to accomplish it.

The Rangers will take the rest of the Thanksgiving weekend off and play the rival Waterloo Wolves White in their home opener Thursday.

Go Rangers!
