Rangers Blank Huskies
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Red team shut out the Hamilton Huskies White team to remain undefeated in league play this season.

Aiden Radatus returned from concussion and registered his 5th shutout of the season. Radatus looked comfortable in nets and moved in his crease with confidence. Radatus was square to the puck and let very few, if any, second chance rebounds.

Daniel Gubbels had a hot hand and continued to score goals for the Rangers. Gubbels had a pair of goals. His line was strong all game for the Rangers with Connor Coughlin opening the scoring with Jacob Reid-Brant and Gubbels getting the assists. Coughlin had an assist on the first Gubbels goal and Kailum Belanic and Keenan Hack had assists on his second goal.

Nicholas Zammit was rewarded for all his hard work. Zammit has been battling hard all season and putting in great effort in practice and games. His goal was assisted by Jacob Fisher and made possible with the determined play of Aydan Costello. The line was a handful in the game and made some amazing plays when passing the puck in the neutral zone and in the Huskies zone.

Carter Niall, Ryan McConnell and Ethan Lafleur were effective all game with cycling the puck. The trio created a lot of scoring chances and drew penalties as the Huskies struggled to contain them. The line is showing some chemistry and appear to be gaining confidence.

The Rangers were without one of their top defenders, Logan Hock, and the team needed the defenders to a play smart and effective game and did just that for the coaches. Noah Park was tremendous in the game and pinched perfectly to hold the line and carried the puck at all the right times. The coaches have asked the defence to quarter back the play and make sure they head man the puck at all times. Yianni Peppas and Kodi Blackshaw were masters at it in the game and caught the Huskies off guard and their Rangers teammates in stride.

Up next the Rangers play their rival Hawks in Cambridge and the team will need to build on their excellent play. The coaches have enjoyed watching them move the puck so well and are hopeful it continues!

Go Rangers!
