Rangers Take Bite Out of Bulldogs
The Kitchener Jr Ranger MD Red team continued their unbeaten streak against the Burlington Bulldogs Red team with a 4 to 1 win Sunday evening.

Colin Starr was playing in his second consecutive game for the Rangers and looked like he had played there all season. Starr played a smart game and moved pucks out of the zone with ease and made some great passes head manning the puck. His partner, Keenan Hack, was another standout for the Rangers. Hack pinched in the play well and was effective at getting the puck to open forwards.

Aydan Costello opened the scoring for the Rangers. His goal was set up from Kailum Belanic. Jacob Fisher and Nicholas Zammit did a great job cycling the puck and the trio spent long stretches on their shifts with the Bulldogs hemmed in their zone.

Ryan McConnell had the Rangers second goal and it was a beauty. McConnell has been a beast in the past few games and his positioning was masterful. Connor Coughlin and Jacob Reid-Brant had the assists and were equally impressive in the game.

Daniel Gubbels netted his team leading 26th goal of the season when he used his tremendous speed to beat the defender for a loose puck. Gubbels made a nifty play in close to fool the goalie. Ethan Lafleur was dangerous all game for the Rangers as well. Lafluer was silky smooth and tangled the Bulldog defenders to create scoring chances. Carter Niall played a beautiful game. Niall broke into the zone with speed before he slowed slightly and drew the defender in and slide a gorgeous pass to Belanic for the final Rangers goal. Not long after Niall deked three Bulldogs and drew more attention before making a backhanded saucer pass to the open Ranger but the Bulldogs goalie was there this time.

The Rangers coaches challenged the defense to aggressively hold the line and gap up in their zone. Noah Park, Yianni Peppas and Kodi Blackshaw answered the call and did very well making life difficult on the Bulldog forwards and had them looking over their shoulders. Aiden Radatus was sharp for the Rangers when the Bulldogs managed to get shots away from the Rangers defenders. Radatus made a nice blocker save and was quick with his pads pushing pucks to the outside.

Next the Rangers face their rivals, the Waterloo Wolves Black, in what could end up being a game for who finishes first before the league tiers. Should the Rangers play as determined and focused as today their coaches believe they can reach their goal of finishing first.

Go Rangers!
