Red Win MD East / Central Alliance Champions 2017/18
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Red team are the MD East / Central Alliance Champions 2017/18 after shutting out the Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team 3 to 0 Thursday night.

The Tier 1 MD East / Central Regular Season Champions swept the competition in the play downs winning all four games by an amazing 17 goals scored and only 3 goals against. This is the teams second major banner and the team has their sights on a rare and dominate Triple Banner Year. The Rangers are also Stratford Warrior Champions, Cambridge MD Festival Champions, Guelph Power Play Finalist and Wayne Gretzky Finalists.

Jacob Reid-Brant opened the scoring on the power play for the Ranger from Aydan Costello and Carter Niall. Daniel Gubbels scored from Jacob Fisher and Niall had a power play goal from Reid-Brant and Kodi Blackshaw.

In the third period the Rangers were down twice 5 on 3 and had several players set up to kill the penalties. Fisher, Gubbels and Costello were all over the ice tracking pucks and Blackshaw was a shot blocking machine.

Nicholas Zammit and Ryan McConnell continued to click with Connor Coughlin. The trio are exceptional at controlling the puck. Logan Hock has remained playing forward and really provided the team with needed aggressive play down low.

Aiden Radatus recorded back to back shutouts in elimination games and was moving really well in net. Radatus was confident and in the third made several smart blocker saves while directing the puck to the corners.

The Rangers defense was again a wall and pushed the Blue players outside well and swarmed loose pucks. Keenan Hack has found a new level of play and has been a stand out. Noah Parks confidence is sky high for good reason as he is always making smart plays. Kailum Belanic used his speed and size perfectly and the co-captain defenders Yianni Peppas and Blackshaw were generals controlling the pace.

The Rangers will return to practice next week and get to work on training for the Alliance Championship tournament with their season long mission just weeks away. The coaches are confident in their players and are excited because they feel the players have not even peaked in their potential. The coaches admire the players work ethic and passion. It has been an amazing ride and we thank you.

Now lets go get that banner, Go Rangers!
